Artem Yasynskyy

Artem Yasynskyy was born in 1988 in Donetsk, Ukraine into a family of classical musicians. At the age of seven he became a pupil at the Special School for Gifted Children run by the Prokofiev Academy in Donetsk and gave his first concert when he was eight years old.
A scholarship granted by the Ukrainian Government from 2006 to 2010 enabled him to study at the Prokofiev State Academy of Music with Albina Oryshchuk graduating in 2010 with Honours.
Artem Yasynskyy moved to Germany in 2010 in order to continue postgraduate piano studies at the University of the Arts in Bremen with Professor Patrick O’Byrne. In 2018 he completed the degree of Konzertexamen (highest academic grade in music) with Honours and joined the Piano Faculty, where he is currently a Principal subject Piano Teacher. In 2021 he won a position of substitute professorship of piano at the University of Arts Bremen.
During his studies in Bremen Artem Yasynskyy received many scholarships by important foundations such as the London Keyboard Charitable Trust (England), the Clavarte Foundation (Switzerland), the Steinway Award in Hamburg and the Hans and Stefan Bernbeck Foundation, the „Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben“, (Germany), Vere Music Fund (Ukraine).
Artem Yasynskyy has participated with great success in numerous international competitions and music festivals. In 2015 he was gold medallist at the Cincinnati Piano Competition and prizewinner at the Honens Piano Competition in Calgary, Canada. He won prizes at the Gian Battista Viotti Competition in Vercelli, the Sendai International Music Competition and the Gina Bachauer Competition in Salt Lake
City, the Top of The World Competition in Tromsø, Norway, the Horowitz International Piano Competition in Kiev, the Manhattan Music Competition and the First German Competition of Polish Music (Leschetizky Competition).
In 2021 he won the second prize and 5 other additional prizes by the Sydney International Piano Competition. He performed at numerous festivals such as the « Gina Bachauer Piano Artist Concert Series », the Honens Festival in Calgary, Canada, the Paderewski Festival in Raleigh, North Carolina (USA), the “Bremer Musikfest”, the “Raritäten der Klaviermusik” in Husum, Germany, the “Kiev Musical Summer Evenings Festival” and many others.
Numerous concert appearances have taken him on tour to Canada, USA, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Italy, Spain, Greece, Norway, Russia and throughout Germany. He performed in prestigious venues such as the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall (December 2016), the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Hamburg Laeiszhalle, Jack Singer Hall in Calgary, Kyiv Philharmonie, the Sendesaal Bremen, the Bremer « Glocke ».
His first CD was released by the Naxos Grand Piano label in 2015 and features works by Józef Hofmann. His second CD of Sonatas by Domenico Scarlatti was released by the Naxos Label in January 2018. In Autumn 2021 he plans to record the CD with pieces of Gabriel und Sergei Prokofiev.
